Submission Guidelines — Issue 01
Submissions are now open for the first issue of The Soft Light Magazine! We welcome poetry, personal essays, articles, short fiction, film and book reviews, photography, visual art, illustration, and work that exists somewhere in between.
General
- All work must be entirely your own. We do not accept plagiarised or AI-generated writing, artwork, or photography.
- We prefer work that hasn't been published before, but if something already lives elsewhere and you still own it, send it anyway — just let us know where it first appeared.
- Sensitive themes may be considered when handled thoughtfully. We do not accept hate speech, discriminatory material, or exploitative content.
Written work
- Prose should not exceed 2,000 words. You may submit up to three poems or one prose piece.
- Submit as a .docx file or an accessible Google Docs link, with the title included in the document.
Photography & visual art
- You may submit up to eight images as high-resolution JPG or PNG files.
- If people appear in your images, you must have their permission to publish.
